I attended Redhill Magistrates Court to deal with a client charged with an offence of speeding; he had already accrued 9 penalty points and was about to receive at least three more, making him a totter.
What dates do you use to calculate a three year period for the purpose of totting? Is it from the date of conviction or date of the offence? And, how can you leave court with your licence after being disqualified?
My client retained his licence despite accruing 13 points after a special type of application by me. If he had been disqualified, I would have applied to the court to suspend the period of disqualification pending an appeal!
Whether you instruct a solicitor or barrister, it is the quality that counts.
