On the available information, it appears that a significant number of prosecutions by the local authority in Guilford and the surrounding area have been for offences under the Licensing Act and mainly in relation to the sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 18
A person commits an offence if he sells alcohol to a child under 18.
A defence is available.
A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 5 (£5,000).
